Chelsea, from Brading on the Isle of Wight

Chelsea, from Brading on the Isle of Wight, was born eleven weeks early on 25th February, 2012 weighing a tiny 2lbs12oz.

When Chelsea was born she suffered two bilateral grade four IVH bleeds on her brain which has resulted in Chelsea having extensive brain damage which has shown on her MRI. Because of these complications they have affected Chelse
a in lots of ways; one is that she has faltering growth because Chelsea cannot eat or drink orally. She is feed for 20 hours a day via a NG tube and pump soon will be having GJ button fitted.

Chelsea is now 9 months old and only weighs 11lb14oz. Chelsea also has evolving four limb cerebal palsy with muscle spasms which is very painful for her and requires her to have lots of physio. She also had an EEG which was abnormal.

Chelsea has lots of seizures due to epilepsy and then last of all Chelsea has delayed visual maturation. Chelsea does not fix or follow and Chelsea cannot see due to her brain damage; she has CVI (cortical visual imparement).

This is where Chelsea's family decided to start Chelsea's Wishes. Because of Chelsea's complex needs she is going to require lots of equipment and because of Chelsea's size she doesn’t fit into any normal clothes. We would also like to create a sensory nursery for Chelsea with lights, sounds and things for her to touch.
We know Chelsea reacts slightly to light so we want to try and help her to see more. All this equipment we cannot afford on our own, so we needs as much help as we can.

Please help this little princess have the best in life that we can give her.

Georgie Bailey, Tree of Hope Children's Charity

Georgie Bailey

Georgie Bailey is a bright, lively six year old girl, living in Wetherby, near Leeds in Yorkshire. She suffered from oxygen deprivation at birth and as a result has athetoid / dystonic cerebral palsy.

Doctors initially said that she would never be able to move her arms, lift her head or sit up. However Georgie is a strong-willed girl and determined to be as independent as possible.
After four years of intensive physio, Georgie can now sit, crawl and climb. She attends a mainstream school, drives a powerchair and communicates with an electronic talker.
Whilst she has achieved so much, Georgie still requires 1-1 care, cannot walk, talk and needs help with all everyday tasks such as eating, drinking, getting dressed and playing.
Her family have fundraised for the past five years to enable her to attend specialist physio to continue developing her self-help skills, and to provide the equipment that she needs to make life easier.
Georgie has a huge amount of potential which is why we are asking you to support us in our fundraising and become a 'friend of Georgie'.

Merlin's Wish Foundation Charity

Merlin's Wish Foundation funds treatment of and grants magical wishes for children suffering from terminal or serious illnesses through specialist UK registered charities,

The Foundation is a registered charity, exclusively funded by supporters. They raise funds through sponsored events such as Merlin's Miles, corporate promotions and by providing financially underwritten prize competitions / auctions and other events to create an area of enjoyable participation for supporters.

More than 150 children, each suffering from a terminal or serious illness,  have
had their magical wishes agreed but are currently having to wait up to12 months
to have them granted. Tragically some of those children may pass away before
their wishes can be granted so we desperately need to bring that waiting time
right down.

The Tree of Hope Children's Charity

The Tree of Hope Children's Charity offers hope to the families of sick and disabled UK children who need specialist surgery or additional medical treatment and therapy, in order to save their lives, and to give a better quality of life, and to help free them from suffering, by funding the treatment required.

It is sometimes assumed and taken for granted when a child is born healthy and free from disabilities, that the child will continue to be so. It is also assumed and taken for granted that the Health Services in the United Kingdom will always be able to cure sick people.

They do try, but treatment and therapy can be very expensive, and funds are not always available from the normal Services.

Sometimes the lack of knowledge, facilities and equipment in this country means that treatment is better in other countries. Most Treatments and Therapies can be found in the United Kingdom but some Treatments are only available abroad.
